Kenya Insurance Companies and Customer Service

Simply terrible Insurance Companies in Kenya

This is not a condemnation of Kenya Insurance companies. It is actually what happened.

What would you do if you went to file an insurance claim and you were told that your file did not exist? No, it is not the accounts manager who told you this. It is the receptionist who gives you this wonderful information...."and no sir, you can not see the manager".

Welcome to the life of anyone who wishes to make a claim on Kenyan insurance. It does not matter what type of insurance you are claiming for. From life, motor, accident or even the new kidnapping insurance in Kenya, you have no luck if you do not know the owner of the business.

Common Accident Insurance Stories

It is common knowledge amongst Kenyan drivers that they don't bother making any claim for any accident in which bones are not broken. Who has the time to get a police report, a doctor's report and then have the insurance company tell you that your car will be in the garage for 6 months?

Fender benders can be ignored. However, what about people with serious medical conditions as well as death? Why does it take a Kenyan insurance company forever to pay up for such claims?

It is common knowledge that they never pay up and will end up blaming the lawyer. The lawyer will blame the insurance company in Kenya and you know the rest....

Mr. Insurance Company. Someone which broken bones in a hospital bed for 3 months can not possibly be faking an accident can they? Please pay up! He needs the money to pay his hospital bill. You do remember that you cannot be released from Kenyan hospitals without paying the bill, don't you?

Time Insurance Companies in Kenya Changed

Thank God the internet is here!

It is time Kenyans started complaining about Kenya Insurance companies and making others know about them. I think we have all had enough!

I will start naming names of insurance companies that refuse to pay up my fender bender and write it in my blog for the whole world to know.

How hard is it for you to:

  1. Send a detailed record of how much life insurance premiums I have paid,
  2. Send a note reminding me of my cheque in your office,
  3. Have customer service representatives who speak english, or
  4. Train insurance sales reps on your own products?

Shame on you Mr. Insurance Companies in Kenya

This is very a true and timely exposê and every driver in Kenya can identify with it. Sad is also the fact that Kenyan drivers are too either busy driving or chasing up the mirageous insurance claims that they have no time to check and comment on such worthwhile internet information. These inumerable bogus insurance companies deserve naming and shaming. Thank you.
