On my trip back to Kenya, I was asked to take a look at some Kenyan websites that had been created by some of my friends.

I have to say that they were beautiful. They were very friendly to the eye but there were a few problems. They were not bringing any traffic to their owners.


Because of lack of traffic, their owners wanted to get rid of them and they saw no hope in Internet business for the Kenyan entrepreneur.

It didn't take long to notice that even though the websites that were created were good and based on good ideas, there was no way they were going to make any money for the owner. There was little or no search engine optimization is any of these sites. In short they did not seem to have used any Kenya SEO services.

The beauty of Internet business is that anyone who has the will, the time and patience can make money. Even if you are in a third world country like Kenya, your chances of making money online are equal to someone in the developed world.

All you have to do is take the time to learn and also do more than your competitors and success online will find you.

So if you are starting your own beautiful website and you neglect doing some basic Internet marketing and even more precisely some search engine optimization, then you are likely not to succeed.

So next time you get a Kenya web developer who does not take into account the importance of SEO work in your new site, please look for another one. Some of the things to look for with a SEO company include their own search engine rankings. After all, if the company cannot rank in its own business, how do you expect it to rank you higher?

You should also find out their own experience in SEO business. Can they show you other websites that they are working on and how do these websites rank in search engines?


If you cannot afford to hire one, you should then take the time to learn how to improve on SEO work in your website. The alternative of avoiding SEO is failure in your new online venture.


It will actually cost you more in the long run if you avoid doing basic SEO work. 


Though internet business is still in its infancy in Kenya, that is not an excuse to do neglect the things that are necessary to succeed in online business.


It is good to build a website however, you should look for a good SEO company in Kenya to help you meander through the murky online and internet marketing business.
